What you need to know about selling financed vehicles
You may be wondering if you can sell a car that’s on finance. In short, yes you can. But remember, it is illegal to knowingly sell someone a car with outstanding finance without informing them of the situation.
There are a couple of things you must do first. You’ll need to inform your finance company and ask them for a settlement figure. This is an outstanding balance left to pay off your loan.
If you are taking your car into a dealership to part-exchange it, the sale of your vehicle may be enough to pay off the loan, however, you may need a further deposit to put against your new car.
