Why the New Peugeot 3008 SUV is Perfect for Technology Buffs

The New Peugeot 3008 SUV has undergone quite a transformation for its second generation that goes on sale this January. Looking more like a sleek and powerful small SUV rather than its original MPV style, it’s a practical and economical vehicle that has got many people excited for a number of reasons.

One of these is the substantial amount of quality car tech that is included in the vehicle. From its revamped infotainment system to the options of a BlueHDi diesel or PureTech engine, there are many aspects of the New Peugeot 3008 SUV that technology buffs will love.  

The i-Cockpit

The biggest change inside the New Peugeot 3008 SUV is the dashboard, where the second generation i-Cockpit has been installed. This includes a new 12.3-inch digital dial display that can be customised to show the information you require, from a navigation display or driving assistance to the regular analogue dials.

For infotainment this new Peugeot provides a touchscreen with 8-inch display which is angled towards the driver. There are seven toggle switches below the air vents on the dash which can be used to choose between climate control, navigation and smartphone functions quickly. Apple CarPlay connectivity is available, plus the New Peugeot 3008 SUV has a 4G sim card included, which is used to operate the Sat Nav.

With the GT models the Amplify system is included as part of the i-Cockpit too. This offers two modes, Boost and Relax, which change the lights, speakers and fragrance diffuser to create different ambiences. Added to the five modes of the eight-point seat massager, driving or being a passenger has never been comfier!

Safety Plus Pack

It’s not just for entertainment purposes that the New Peugeot 3008 SUV is great for technology lovers. The safety plus pack is made up of many different car tech features and equipment that make driving that little bit safer and easier.

This includes active blind spot detection which indicates when a vehicle is in the blind spot area, and will brake when in immediate danger. Active lane keeping assistance and advanced driver attention alert system are two other inclusions which help keep you safe when on the roads.

The lane keeping assist alerts the driver when it has touched a white line and can correct the steering if required to bring the vehicle back to the centre of the lane. Additionally, the driver alert warning provides audio and visual alerts after two hours of continuous driving and through comparing the car’s movement with road markings. These have helped the New Peugeot 3008 SUV earn a five star Euro NCAP safety rating.

180° Colour Reversing Camera

The 8-inch touchscreen can display information picked up by the parking sensors, but it also offers two further features. A 180° colour reversing camera can use the screen, split into thirds, to display vehicles approaching from both sides and an overhead view of everything around the rear of the car.

This is incredibly helpful when reversing as there is no need to use the rear-view mirror or strain yourself to turn around. It is a practical addition to the new Peugeot and makes driving far less stressful, especially when reverse parking into a tight spot.
