Vauxhall Reveals Pricing And Specification For New Grandland

04 September 2024

Vauxhall has opened orders for the New Grandland, a stylish and dynamic, spacious and versatile SUV that features a fully electrified range of powertrains. Prices for the New Grandland start from £34,700 OTR, with first deliveries commencing from October. New Grandland sits comfortably at the top of Vauxhall’s SUV portfolio and is the first model to bring to life many of the bold design features first seen on the Vauxhall Experimental concept, including the 3D Vizor, standard across all New Grandland models, and illuminated Griffin logo proudly sitting in the centre of the front grille on GS trim models and above. New Grandland also displays ‘compass’ vertical and horizontal lines front and rear, with the permanently illuminated “VAUXHALL” lettering at the rear.

At 4,650mm long, New Grandland is the largest model in Vauxhall’s refreshed SUV line-up that also includes Mokka and the forthcoming new Frontera. As a result, it delivers the ultimate passenger comfort, interior space and storage.Further highlights include the debut of Vauxhall’s best-in-class Intelli-Lux Pixel Matrix HD lighting system with over 50,000 individual elements, plus the BEV-native STLA Medium platform and new flat battery packaging design which will eventually allow for a 98kWh battery and electric range of up to 435 miles.

The first Vauxhall to benefit from the Stellantis STLA Medium BEV-native platform, New Grandland also adopts many of the “Vauxhall Compass” design features first seen on the Vauxhall Experimental Concept. This approach is seen in the new 3D Vizor treatment on GS and Ultimate models that features a prominent illuminated Vauxhall Griffin emblem in the centre of the grille and full width LED DRLs. The new illuminated logo is accompanied by yet another lighting innovation from Vauxhall – the best-in-class Intelli-Lux Pixel Matrix HD headlamps. Featuring over 50,000 lighting elements they use a camera to deliver high-definition light distribution based on the traffic situation. This set-up also delivers a much brighter and homogeneous light pattern – all while ensuring that other road users are not dazzled.

At the rear, the distinctive compass lighting signature includes the very first integration on a production model of the illuminated ‘VAUXHALL’ script. The rear brake lights are full width and combine with the vertical third rear brake light to echo the compass theme seen at the front.  In line with Vauxhall’s approach to sustainability, the name ‘GRANDLAND’ is now centrally embossed in the tailgate rather than displayed by individual chrome lettering. All versions of the New Grandland get 19-inch alloy wheels as standard and a body colour rear spoiler. GS and Ultimate models feature black diamond cut wheels, a contrasting black roof finish and both front and rear bumpers and spoilers in high gloss black, while the Ultimate Electric is further enhanced with 20-inch alloy wheels and a panoramic glass roof.

Inside, New Grandland features further bold design elements as well as a warm and engaging ambience, and a focus on technology. A driver-oriented 10-inch centrally mounted infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto sits in the centre of the dashboard, while ahead of the driver is a fully digital 10-inch cluster that provides essential information. GS and Ultimate models feature a larger 16-inch infotainment system complete with wireless smartphone charging. Frequently used settings such as climate control can also be operated intuitively via physical buttons.

Vauxhall’s ergonomic seats also ensure the highest levels of comfort. Certified by AGR (the German “Campaign for Healthier Backs”) and standard on GS and Ultimate, they introduce the patented Intelli-Seat feature in the front seats – a slot that relieves pressure on the tailbone – coming as standard and ensuring outstanding comfort even during long journeys on the motorway. On all models the seat fabric is made from 100% recycled materials. Meanwhile, passengers in the rear enjoy 20mm of additional legroom compared to the outgoing Grandland. The long wheelbase of 2,784mm and steep tailgate increase room in the cabin and boot. The rear seats can be folded down 40:20:40, creating a load volume of up to 1,645 litres. With the seats up, the Grandland has a boot volume of 550 litres – an increase of 36 litres over the outgoing model. New Grandland has a strong focus on interior versatility, with a number of innovative storage solutions, including the new Pixel Box. Standard on GS and Ultimate, this illuminated translucent glass storage is situated ahead of the gear selector and features a wireless smartphone charging pad. This allows devices to be charged while being stored safely, while their constant visibility helps to ensure they are not forgotten when leaving the New Grandland. In total, New Grandland offers over 35 litres of interior storage compartments, best in class for the segment and 15 litres more than the outgoing model, including the innovative Pixel Box, phone pockets in the backrests of the front seats and a large storage area under the centre console which also accommodates a 12V socket.

From launch the New Grandland offers a fully electrified range of powertrains, including the fully electric New Grandland Electric. Featuring a powerful 73kWh battery and 210PS motor, and energy-saving features such as the heat pump coming as standard it can travel up to 325 miles on a single charge with 0-62mph taking 9.0 seconds. Next year, New Grandland Electric will be joined by a Long-Range version with a 98kWh battery and an estimated range of 435 miles. Drivers will be able to choose from three levels of regenerative braking using the steering wheel paddles, while the battery can be re-charged to 80% in around only 26 minutes at a rapid charger. Also available is the New Grandland Hybrid, which combines a 136hp 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 28hp electric motor and 48-volt technology to deliver outstanding efficiency and performance, giving the option of driving in electric mode in urban environments. Paired with a new six-speed dual clutch transmission, it is capable of up to 51.4mpg (WLTP), emits as little as 125g/km of CO2 and is capable of 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds. New Grandland is also available with an extensive array of driver assistance systems. Among the features included as standard are Automatic Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Extended Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Adaptation and In Crash Braking, a system with the purpose of helping avoid a secondary collision in case of an accident. The Intelli-Drive 2.0 system, which integrates numerous electronic assistants and combines them with semi-automatic lane-change assist and Recommended Speed Adaptation,  technology that allows the vehicle's speed to be reduced accordingly when a new speed limit is reached or increased up to that limit, is also standard as part of the Ultimate specification.
