GRAND C4 SPACETOURER SECURES ‘BEST SEVEN-SEAT CAR’ TITLE AT CARBUYER AWARDS 2020

09 January 2020

Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer has scooped the prestigious title ‘Best Seven-Seat Car’ in this year’s Carbuyer Best Car Awards. Winning its category for the second consecutive year*, the popular MPV was praised for its spacious interior, comfortable ride and excellent modularity.

Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer has been named ‘Best Seven-Seat Car’ in the Carbuyer Best Car Awards 2020, marking the second consecutive year* that the model has been recognised. The award – previously titled ‘Best MPV’ – now encompasses a larger number of vehicles, including cars, SUVs and premium models, which in turn means an even greater achievement for Citroën’s best-selling MPV.

Grand C4 SpaceTourer was praised for its spacious interior, plus its generous boot capacity of 632-litres that increases to 793-litres when the rear seats are folded down. The family favourite MPV was also recognised for its innovative interior layout, including seven individual seats for optimum flexibility. The seating in row two offers both fore and aft, and backrest angle adjustment, coupled with 3 individual sets of Isofix mounting points with Top Tethers, allowing the safe and secure fitment of up to three child seats side by side in the same row.

The annual Carbuyer Best Car Awards highlight the leading models in a host of separate categories, with a team of industry experts analysing vehicles across a range of criteria, including safety, efficiency, reliability and performance.

James Batchelor, Editor-at-Large and Head of Motoring Video at Carbuyer, commented: “Proving MPVs don't have to be dull, the Grand C4 SpaceTourer exhibits fine French flair inside and out. Looking good is one thing, but the Citroën earns its Best seven-seater award by providing an innovative, flexible interior for passengers.”

In October 2019, Citroën’s multi-award winning Grand C4 SpaceTourer received a wealth of standard equipment upgrades. The range moved to three new trim levels, with the outgoing ‘Touch Edition’, ‘Feel’ and ‘Flair’ replaced by ‘Touch Plus’, ‘Feel Plus’ and ‘Flair Plus’, with each new trim offering enhanced specification. Grand C4 SpaceTourer has followed a trend observed with several other Citroën models, where high demand exists for upper trim levels and high levels of standard equipment.

* Renamed in 2018, Grand C4 SpaceTourer was previously known as Grand C4 Picasso, the winner of the Carbuyer ‘Best Seven-Seater’ award for four years in a row (2015 - 2018).
