New Ami, on sale in 2025, will make its global debut at the Paris Motor Show. With a new face, it aims to continue Ami's success story, having already won over more than 65,000 customers. Citroën Ami celebrates its fourth anniversary this year, marking a milestone since its surprise debut in 2020. With over 65,000 customers, Ami has redefined urban mobility by offering an accessible, electric quadricycle where symmetry is key to its unique design. Its affordability, ease of use, and practical features—like speeds up to 26 mph and a range of 46 miles have made it a valuable asset for city dwellers.
Ami is celebrating two world premieres at the Paris Motor Show. The first is the next-generation Ami, which will go on sale in 2025, with a new front-end design that retains Ami's sleek, yet mischievous style. Ami takes the opportunity to make a nod to its illustrious predecessor, the 2CV, by also adopting striations on its wings to mark out the bodywork. Derived from this version, the designers had fun imagining a new edition of the model's adventurous variant through an Ami buggy Vision concept dedicated to nautical leisure activities. Joyful, festive, and inspiring, Ami is on display in a tower on the Citroën stand that brings together emblematic versions of Ami (Ami Peps, Ami for All and Ami Rose Festival).
2025 Ami
Ami will evolve in the first half of 2025 with a new generation, making its debut in Paris. The next-generation Ami 100% ëlectric will maintain the same dimensions as the current Ami, but will have a new front and rear fascia to give it a more personalised appearance, as well as a new face with sharper lines. The headlamps, surrounded by a black design resembling eyelids, are raised at the base of the windscreen to give a new, more expressive glance. Positioned high up, they give a new balance and a new reading of the front end for a model that looks further ahead.
Symmetry remains a fundamental element of Ami's design, contributing to Ami's original character and helping to keep costs under control. The inclined plane under the windscreen is found under the rear window, adding dynamism to Ami's silhouette by giving the impression of pushing the mass forward, which is echoed in the doors and wings. The wings also feature a nod to the illustrious 2CV, with striations moulded into the shape of the front right wing and rear left wing. This motif refers to the slots in the front wings of the iconic car born in 1948. Although 77 years will separate these two Citroën’s, Ami is a legitimate descendant of the 2CV and, like it, aims for simplicity and ease of use for all.
World premiere for Ami Buggy Vision concept
Ami Buggy Vision debuts as a unique, outdoor-themed version of the Ami 2025. Designed with kite surfing in mind, it’s doorless, has a sunroof, and is built for beach adventures and outdoor fun. This 100% electric vehicle is ideal for nature lovers, blending functionality with style. With a midnight blue body and white roof, Ami Buggy Vision channels the carefree vibe of a summer evening. Its design includes white details around the front, adding a playful touch to Ami’s signature look. Special tires and black wheel arch protectors enhance its adventurous appeal, while geometric white stickers add energy to the design, echoing Citroën’s Oli concept.
Drawing on the iconic 2CV, Ami Buggy Vision features striated wings and round yellow headlights, and includes an LED light bar above the windshield for nighttime exploration. It even has a clever hook on each side to secure a kite surfboard, made from folded metal with the Citroën name cut out. Inside, the new seat cushions—finished in a bright ‘Infrared’ orange-red color—offer enhanced comfort, echoing the style of Citroën’s Advanced Comfort® seats. The dashboard, marked with the phrase “Like No One” in a wave-inspired font, captures the distinct spirit of Ami Buggy Vision.
